The double shrutibox has a wide range spanning two octaves, from C3 to C5, which is noticeably higher than the double G shrutiboxes in our product range. As a result, the sound is brighter and adds more clarity. When you play individual notes or chords starting from C3, you can simultaneously play octaves, fifths, and fourths from the higher octave, simulating the basic principles of the harmonic series. Additionally, you have the ability to play any combination of the 26 chromatic notes that are available on this instrument.

ATTENTION! Irritating buzzing, rattling or ringing noises at specific notes may occur spontaneously in all shrutiboxes at any time. Such noises usually indicate a minimal displacement of the metal reed that produces the affected note. Due to the displacement, the reed touches its metal frame while vibrating. This phenomenon is widespread, often disappears by itself after some playing and can be fixed easily. No need to worry! It can easily be fixed. For shrutiboxes bought at our Merlyn store we give lifetime warranty on buzzing reeds.
Shrutiboxes not bought in our shop can be fixed too, but not under warranty.
