In order to produce the soft and soothing tones that are expected from a gong rubber, we use natural rubber for the Lava Edition gong rubbers. The material makes it possible to elicit pleasant and sensual sounds from your instrument. The use of treated natural rubber in the handle and head of the mallet makes it particularly resistant and prevents scratches or other damage to the gong. In addition, the purely vegan natural rubber also ensures an incredibly wide range of sounds.

Care and tips

The Lava Edition gong rubbers are high-quality gong rubbers made from natural rubber. The balls are hand-finished and are therefore all slightly different.

• When you have finished playing the gong, it is best to put the gong rubber back in a sealed, perhaps opaque bag (so it is not so exposed to UV light).
• Our gong rubbers are protected against ageing. However, this protection may cause white spots to appear on the surface from time to time. This is not a problem at all... A short ‘shower’ with hot water will help. Then allow to air dry.

If you pay attention to these things, your Lava Edition gong rubber will accompany you for a long time.

A few words about wear and tear

Gong rubbers are everyday objects. This means that the more intensively you use them, the faster they show signs of wear. Think of a car tyre or a windscreen wiper: If you drive a lot, it will wear out more quickly. It is similar with gong rubbers. As these rubbers are made from natural rubber, they unfortunately cannot last forever. Nevertheless, with the above tips, these quality gong rubbers will give you pleasure for a long time!

PLEASE NOTE: Small irregularities are completely normal!

The balls of our friction mallets are moulded by hand and then finished with various tools until the desired surface is achieved. This can result in small irregularities on the ball, which are due to this manual process. This is therefore completely normal and has no influence whatsoever on the sound you can produce with this rubber.
