The High Spirits Contra Bass in the key of "A" minor is made of Spanish cedar wood and has a soft, very deep and melancholic sound. It is one of the deepest sounding flutes in the High Spirits range.

The soft wood of the Spanish cedar (compared to walnut) gives a warm, soft sound. The low notes of the flute are ideal for meditative compositions and as an accompaniment to other instruments. A little more practice / experience is required for breathing while playing this flute and grasping the large finger holes.

This flute is 28.7 inches (79 cm) long.

It is a 6-hole flute, we cover the 3rd hole from the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie, giving the option to use it as a 6-hole or a 5-hole flute.
